Justin Thomas is from a small town called Niskayuna, located in Upstate New York, a suburb of the city of Schenectady. Justin was gifted a typewriter for his fourth birthday, April 21 1981. He started writing that night - close to midnight - and has been documenting his imagination ever since.

Writing throughout all of grade school and college, Justin’s efforts and dedication to his craft paid off at the start of the millennium with the publication of his first book, The Ronin Poetz (pub. 2000). The Ronin Poetz was also a history maker, being the first African-American narrative epic poem in America.

In 2012, Justin created Twin Griffin Books, a publishing company and playground for his overactive, literary imagination to play in. Here Justin pushes the boundaries of storytelling and raises the bar on creativity and innovation, adding to the collective literary voice and global black speculative fiction community.

Justin currently resides in Westchester County with his wife Nekia, who is also his editor.
